  • We need to be in touch with our emotions because they exist for a reason. Emotions are there to tell us something, they want to send us a message, and we have to listen in order to help ourselves progress forward.
  • Emotions need to be addressed as feelings turn into emotions, emotions turn into our mood, and our mood impacts the way we show up during the day. When they are suppressed, they create a compounding effect of stress that’s built up inside. Sometimes, this built-up stress manifests as physical ailments and chronic pain.
  • Emotions, whether draining or uplifting, don’t merely stay inside of us - they impact the people around us. Energy-draining emotions can rot us from the inside when unaddressed, and they can also infect other people. In the same way, our positive emotions have the power to lift others up.
  • You have a responsibility as a leader to create a safe space for emotions within the team. However, working with emotions begin with working on yourself - it starts with you.
